Suspected herdsmen kill 2 people, injure 29 others in Adamawa
Some suspected herdsmen again launched an attack on Bare village in Numan local government area of Adamawa state.
According to Punch, the attack which took place on Wednesday, June
27, led to the death of two people in the village and 29 injured
persons.
It was gathered that those killed were attacked on their farms while the attackers also set the villages ablaze.
Speaking on the attack, the chairman of Numan LGA, Rev. Arnold
Ijibla, urged the people of the village not to take laws into their
hands.
Ijibla said security agencies in the area were in control of the situation.
Simeon Mailaimu, one of the victims of the attack, who is also the
councillor representing Bare Council Ward said the attack was
unprovoked.
According to Mailaimu, cows belonging to Fulani herdsmen had
invaded the farmland of a farmer, and the attack began after residents
tried to chase the cows away from the farm.
Also speaking, the chairman of the Hunters Association, Nasarawa
Demsa and Numan branch, Alhaji Bala Uba, appealed to the state
government to provide vehicles for their quick response to tackle the
invasion of the village.
