THE referee in the Portugal vs Morocco match has been allegedly accused of asking for Cristiano Ronaldo’s shirt at half-time. Watford ace Nordin Amrabat supposedly made the startling claim about American ref Mark Geiger, having spoken to Portuguese star Pepe. Speaking to Dutch TV, Amrabat was quoted as saying: "I do not know what he [the referee] is used to, but he was very impressed by Cristiano Ronaldo. “And I hear from Pepe that he asked in the first half if he should have his shirt. “What are we talking about? At the World Cup, it's not a circus here." Meanwhile, Ronaldo became Europe’s all-time leading international goalscorer with his fourth-minute strike in the game.
