Death: Victims Of Kano Wedding Tragedy Drank Drug Laced Beverage – Police

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed that victims of the Kano wedding tragedy met their death after drinking a traditionally made beverage ‘zobo’, laced with a locally grown hard drug, ‘Zakami.’ The police also confirmed that one Abdullahi Shuaibu alias Abba Kwaya and two others alleged to have adulterated the drinks with the drugs had been arrested. Recall that penultimate week, there was reported death of young men after consuming the local drug at a wedding party in Kano metropolis. The police in a statement by its public relations officer, Magaji Musa Majiya, made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday, revealed that Abdullahi Shuaibu alias Abba Kwaya, Abubakar Musa alias Abba Tedko and Abubakar Aliyu alias Kwalla of Unguwa Uku conspired and adulterated the Zobo juice with Zakami which was served to guests.
